A severe depressive episode with psychotic symptoms (from other Greek ψυχή - the soul and -ωσις - a disturbed state) is a pronounced mental disorder, with the presence of hallucinations, delusions, psychomotor retardation, in which mental reactions grossly contradict the real situation, which is reflected in a disorder of perception of the real world and disorganized behavior.
A severe depressive episode is characterized by feelings of guilt, loss of self-esteem, a sense of worthlessness of oneself and everything that happens, inadequate perception of what is happening.
